A natural wonder located near Valdivia, it allows you to explore the spectacular landscapes of the Valdivian Forest, the only temperate rainforest in South America, considered one of the 34 most biodiverse places on the planet.
The Villarrica volcano is located between the cities of Pucón and Villarrica and is impressive for its constant igneous activity. It seems impracticable to reach the very edge of its crater, but the reality is that it is part of a fantastic adventure.
8-day service to get to know and enjoy the diverse landscapes of the Los Ríos region, together with mountaineering activities such as the ascent of the Villarrica, Choshuenco and Mocho volcanoes.
After our meeting at the Pichoy airport in Valdivia, we will travel by van to the town of Choshuenco (165 km from Valdivia), a lakeside resort located on the eastern shore of Lake Panguipulli, in the Los Ríos region.
In Choshuenco, we will settle in a hostel and after a short rest, we will go to Puerto Fuy (20 km), a beautiful town located on the western shore of the Pirihueico Lake, where we will have dinner.
We return to Choshuenco to rest and sleep in the hostel.
After a delicious breakfast at the hostel, we will move to the Mocho Choshuenco National Reserve, specifically to our Base Camp (1.200 m.a.s.l.), in order to settle in and rest, and after a nutritious lunch, we will make a soft trekking through the Reserve walking through native forests, rivers and marshes (in addition to leveling technical knowledge).
Before dinner at our camp, we will receive an instructive talk by our guides in order to give the guidelines to follow for the next day’s ascent to the Mocho volcano.
Very early in the morning and after a buffet breakfast at our base camp, we will equip ourselves and begin our ascent to the summit of the Mocho volcano (2,422 m.a.s.l.). This massif stands out for being surrounded by multiple lakes such as the Riñihue, Panguipulli and Pirihueico, which form a basin that runs along the entire northern arc of the volcano’s slopes.
During the ascent you will be able to see the famous glacier of this massif, with more than two thousand years of life and almost seven kilometres in diameter, it is one of the most studied glaciers and one of the most scientifically interesting in the country.
Back at the base camp we will enjoy a delicious lunch and then rest until dinner time.

After breakfast we will leave our base camp and head to the town of Coñaripe, where after lunch, we will go to the Termas Geométricas hot springs. Located in the locality of Panguipulli, they will allow us the pleasure of enjoying the thermal waters that spring naturally at 80° C in the middle of native forests and that are found in wells carved in the middle of nature.
In the evening we will drive to Pucón where we will have dinner in a nice restaurant and stay in a hostel.
After a refreshing rest and a delicious breakfast, we will head early in the morning to the Villarrica Sur National Park, which with an area of 63,000 hectares, is part of the Temperate Rainforest Biosphere Reserve of the Southern Andes.
With the help of porters, we will hike to approximately 1.300 m.a.s.l. where we will set up our base camp.
Once settled, we will have dinner and rest contemplating a beautiful panoramic view of the volcanoes Mocho-Choshuenco, Quetrupillán, Lanín, LLaima and Osorno.
Early in the morning and after a refreshing breakfast, we will start our hike to attempt the summit of the Villarrica on the south face, a massif that with 2.847 m.a.s.l. and an almost perfect conical shape, is one of the most active volcanoes in South America.
At the end of the day, we will descend to the town of Coñaripe where we will celebrate this great day with a delicious dinner in a local restaurant and stay in a hostel.
